Pharmaceutical Grade: What does it mean?
The term “pharmaceutical grade” does have a strict legal definition. It refers to compounds and raw ingredients that have met strict standards for purity and processing conditions. These standards are established by the US Pharmacopeia (USP).

​The product must be in excess of 99% purity with NO binders, fillers, excipients, dyes, or unknown substances.
​Taking this type of quality will give you results faster than you would normally expect than taking cosmetic grade, because of the potency. 

  • Pharmaceutical Grade - meets pharmaceutical standards and is very potent
  • Cosmetic/Food Grade - meets standards set for human consumption (Target, Walgreens, GNC, Walmart, etc..)
  • Feed Grade - meets standards set for animal consumption

Pharmaceutical Grade also means that the product has been manufactured under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) conditions and is pure, safe and reliable. Under GMP, every step of the process is followed using established procedures to assure the best quality possible. This includes training, equipment, raw materials, and facilities. Processing and manufacturing can be traced back to the date, time, lot number, and equipment used.

These products are typically accessed through a Licensed or Certified Health Professional. You cannot purchase these products at your local grocery store, health food stores, and third party websites. This grade of supplements is very potent and must be made sure that there are only positive interactions with any current medications. We work with Doctors. 

Cosmetic/Food Grade nutritional supplements may or may not follow good manufacturing practices and may or may not contain what is actually listed on the label. The FDA allows questionable fillers and binders such as; cork by products, chemical dyes, sodium benzoate, dextrose, and propylene glycol to name a few. This is what is being sold at common stores such as Walmart, Target, Walgreens/CVS and local grocery stores to name a few.

In most cases, impure ingredients are used by many companies for inexpensive cost purposes. The FDA does not require manufacturers to list these ingredients on the labels if they are not added when making the final product.

In today's modern world, overload of stress, poor diet and food supply, and exposure to toxins gives us enough reasons to support our bodies with natural enzymes, vitamins, and minerals. 

As the Standard American Diet shifts further from being nutrient dense, nutrition deficiency becomes a real problem for everyone. Even if you consider yourself a healthy eater, we can no longer rely on our food supply to provide us with the nutrients we need on a daily basis. 

Soil Depletion

Plants are grown on the same land repeatedly, and the soil loses vitamins, minerals, and microbes faster than they can be replaced, giving the plants fewer nutrients to grow. Fertilizer contains just enough nutrition for the plant to survive until harvesting, but not enough to support human health. Modern farming techniques utilize chemicals that deplete the soil that the plants grow in. As the plants are growing, using herbicides, pesticides, and insecticides further deplete the plants. Because of soil depletion, crops grown decades ago were much richer in vitamins and minerals than the varieties most of us get today. 

In addition, most plants are not harvested fresh. They sit on trucks, shelves, and counters for weeks before being eaten. Over time, the nutrient content of these plants decreases. Commercial harvesting, shipping processes, long term food storage, processing, addition of preservatives, and even cooking degrades the nutrient content of food. 

Toxin Exposure

Pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals found in the food supply, combined with chemicals in many sources of water, with environmental contamination from elements (such as degraded plastic, air pollution from carbon monoxide, lead and mercury), all promote toxic buildup in our cells. These elements increase our need for extra vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to help detoxify and eliminate these harmful substances from our bodies, properly. 

Increased Usage of Prescription Medications
